The team at BlueFit are excited to announce the launch of Swish Basketball to Hurstville Aquatic Leisure Centre. From 9th October the Swish Basketball program will be replacing the existing Learn 2 Play Program.
The launch of the new program will see improvements to the structure and delivery of the basketball program by allowing for clear progression for students through a series of levels. The levels will be grouped into 4 age groups and ensure the best possible development of your child’s basketball skills.
Little Swishers (Under 8’s)
Cubs (under 6’s)
Eagles (beginners over 6)
Rhinos (experience students under 8)
Rookies ( 8 – 12 year olds )
Hawks (beginners over 8)
Panthers (beginners with some experience)
Gators (beginners with more experience)
Bears (Students wishing to pursue competitive basketball)
Tigers (students with developed skills wishing to progress to competition)
Ballers (12+ years )
Gorillas (non competitive over 12 years of age level)
Wolves (over 12 years of age competitive level)
Academy (12+ years Competitive)
Lions (Selection based level picked to undertake special sessions and play in selected tournaments around NSW).
The levels are structured and contain a list of skills that are required to be successfully completed throughout basketball classes consistently in order for a student to move up a level.ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
1. Dribble one handed 5m
2. Chest pass 2m x 5
3. Receive pass from 2m (stationary)
4. Make basket at 2m (3 attempts)
The lessons are $16 per class from the current $11 per class. The cost of lessons has risen as the ratio’s have changed. Each class will have 2 instructors from now on. One senior coach and an assistant to the senior coach.
The program will include the addition of Program Delivery Supervisors (PDCs) who will be courtside each lessons to ensure the students are progressing throughout the program.
The coordinator will assess students and tick off skills as they are successfully completed and you as the parent will receive email updates every time a skill is ticked off.

Monday 3.45pm, 4.30pm, 5.15pm
Tuesday 3.45pm, 4.30pm, 5.15pm
Wednesday 3.45pm, 4.30pm, 5.15pm
Friday 4pm, 4.45pm, 5.30pm, 6.15pm
Saturday 8.45am, 9.30am, 10.15am, 11am and 11.45am.
Uniforms will now be compulsory and you will receive your uniform when you begin the program as part of your starter pack. Any additional uniforms will need to be purchased.
Any new students who are not currently enrolled in the program will be required to pay a $50 joining fee. This joining fee will include a full uniform (Singlet /T-shirt and shorts for the current level, a basketball and a bag.
